Get Daily Verse is a small, independent service with one job: put a verse of Scripture in front of you every day, in the place you actually look, at the time you actually choose.

What We Do

We send Scripture by text at the time you choose. Pick KJV or ASV and receive random verses, follow the Bible from start to finish, or choose both. Both mode sends two texts a day at the same subscription price.

We carry two complete public domain translations, the King James Version and the American Standard Version. The KJV carries 31,102 verses and the ASV 31,103, covering all 66 books in both, for 62,205 verses in total. Whichever you pick, the text arrives exactly as translated, with no commentary, no devotional, and no interpretation attached.

Why We Built It

Most people who say they want to read the Bible more do not have a knowledge problem. They have a friction problem. The Bible app is installed, and it sits on the third home screen behind everything else. The reading plan starts strong in January and quietly dies in February.

Text messages are different. They arrive in the same inbox as messages from your family. They do not require you to open anything, log into anything, or remember anything. The verse is simply there when you glance at your phone, and you read it because reading it takes four seconds.

We built Get Daily Verse for readers who want Scripture in their text messages. Apps and email can be useful too. Our daily verse service comparison explains the choices so you can find a format that fits your day.

How the Service Pays for Itself

Get Daily Verse started out free, funded out of pocket and by reader donations. Every text message costs a few cents to send, and that cost repeats every single day for every single reader. As the list grew, donations stopped covering the bill.

So the service now runs on a subscription of $1.99 a month, which begins after a three day free trial. That price is set to cover the cost of sending your texts and keeping the service running. There are no tiers, no premium features held back, and no upsells. Every subscriber gets every feature.

We do not run ads, and we do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with anyone. There is no advertising business hiding behind the subscription. You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us.

What We Believe About Scripture

We are not affiliated with any church, denomination, or ministry organization. We take no position in the debates that divide congregations, and we do not add commentary that would push you toward one reading over another.

We deliver Scripture and then get out of the way. We chose the KJV and the ASV partly because both are in the public domain, which means we can send them freely without licensing restrictions, and partly because both are trusted across a wide range of traditions.

Who Runs It

Get Daily Verse is operated by Qwikymart LLC. It is a small independent operation rather than a venture backed company, which is exactly why the subscription price matters. The service is funded by the people who read it and by nobody else.

If you have a question, a problem with your delivery, or a suggestion, you can reach a real person at support@getdailyverse.com or through our contact page.

The Companion iOS App

Alongside the text service we publish a free iOS app called Get Daily Verse. It adds an audio Bible, a full browser for all 66 books, and a history of the verses you have received. The app is optional. The text message service works completely on its own, and you never need to install anything to use it.
