Get Daily Verse ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website, SMS service, and mobile application.
Information We Collect
For the SMS service, we collect the information needed to deliver daily Bible verses to you:
- Phone number provided during sign-up for SMS delivery
- Delivery preferences including your preferred time, timezone, verse format, and reading mode
- Reading progress if you choose the sequential (Cover to Cover) reading mode
- Verification codes temporarily stored to confirm your phone number
Optional website advertising involves additional technical information, as described below. We do not send your phone number, SMS messages, or reading progress to our advertising provider.
How We Use Your Information
Your SMS subscription information is used to operate the Get Daily Verse service:
- Sending daily Bible verse SMS messages at your chosen time
- Verifying your phone number during registration
- Tracking which verses have been sent to avoid repeats
- Maintaining your sequential reading position through the Bible
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Get Daily Verse:
- Twilio for SMS message delivery. Twilio processes your phone number to send text messages. See Twilio's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase for secure database hosting. Your data is stored on Supabase servers with encryption at rest. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your SMS subscription information with advertising partners. If you allow optional website advertising, the advertising provider receives technical information from your browser as explained below.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Your phone number is stored securely in our database with row-level security policies enabled. Verification codes expire automatically after 10 minutes. All data transmission between our services uses HTTPS encryption.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you unsubscribe from Get Daily Verse, we mark your account as inactive and retain your phone number only to honor your opt-out request. You may request complete deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Unsubscribe from SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message
- Update your delivery preferences through the app or website
- Request a copy of your stored data
- Request deletion of all your data from our systems
SMS Messaging Terms
By signing up for Get Daily Verse, you consent to receive recurring automated SMS messages containing Bible verses at your selected delivery time. Message frequency is once per day. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP. Text HELP for assistance.
Children's Privacy
Get Daily Verse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Get Daily Verse after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Optional Website Advertising
Some blog articles offer an optional 300 × 250 banner supplied by Adsterra. We load the advertisement only after you choose Allow advertising. This is separate from analytics consent and does not affect your SMS subscription.
When an advertisement loads, Adsterra and its advertising partners may receive technical data such as your IP address, browser and device details, referring page, and ad interactions. They may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure advertising. See Adsterra's privacy policy for its data practices.
Choose No thanks to leave advertising off. Use Advertising choices beside the placement to withdraw consent and remove the current ad. Your choice is stored in this browser; clearing browser storage resets it. Withdrawing consent stops future ad loads here but does not delete data already received by advertising partners. Your phone number, SMS content, and reading progress are not included in the banner code.
